Try-it Ride

Opportunities

Lehigh Valley Composite MTB team welcomes new Middle and High School students of all skills and experience level to try out if mountain biking is a for you! No try-outs, just Try-Its!

Our team is part of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Cycling League (PICL). All practice, race and adventure activities are guided by PICL and NICA.

What is a “Try-It” ride?

A “Try-It” ride generally consists of some basic skill assessment and tips and easy paced trail ride, advanced riders may join the team for a group ride. Every student is eligible to join a “Try-It” ride once under the PICL waiver but must join the team and become practice ready by filling out all paperwork and league fees in PitZone after their one time “Try-It” ride if they would like to continue practicing with the team. They will receive additional instructions and information should they decide to join the team.

Who can join a Try-It ride?

All students entering Middle or High School by fall of any given race season are eligible to join. Our practice season begins in July and races typically run from September to October. You may participate in any of the available sessions regardless of location.

What do you need to join a Try-It ride?

A student should be able to ride a bike, but mountain bike specific skills on single track and dirt trails is not required. Ideally, a student should bring a bike and a helmet in good operating condition, but Lehigh Valley Composite Team may be able to lend out equipment upon request.
