Lehigh Valley Composite Mountain Bike Team has grown and doubled in size since our inaugural year in 2018.

This means we rely on you; parents, coaches, teachers and local athletes to help us build the best mountain bike program we can offer to all of our Lehigh Valley Students!

Our team is actively seeking dedicated coaching staff who understand our desire to keep our program & students safe while providing lots of fun, skill and confidence building on and off the bike!

Whether you can dedicate 1 practice day a week, come out to special race event weekends, help with recruitment and skills clinics or are ready to roll with us 3 times a week, all season long; we value all the help and resources our community is offering and are confident we can find a role for you on our ever growing team.

Our NICA-licensed coaches are role models and teachers who are guided by the best-practices of youth coaching and the growth of the whole student-athlete.

Fall Resources for Coaches

Check out NICA Resources for latest Coaching Requirements

Becoming an Interscholastic Cycling MTB coach can be one of the most fun & rewarding experiences that will also continue to improve your own fitness levels.

If you are tired of watching your young athlete from the side lines, becoming a coach may just be the right thing for you! If you are a local mountain bike rider who would love to help raising the next generation of dirt loving mountain bike riders, this role may be just what you are looking for!

There are 3 levels of coaches for each team. The average parent/ volunteer will start out as a level 1 coach.
You will be required to take a number of online training and certifications, all of them will prove to be very valuable and especially useful when out on the trail with the kids.

While there is a definite time commitment to become certified & train with our team, there are also financial commitments involved. Lehigh Valley Composite MTB is going to reimburse a portion of these costs for any coach involved for 35 hours or more per season.

All team volunteers are required to obtain a NICA Certification License at one of three levels:

Level 3 Certification: Takes a leadership role within the team. Equivalent competencies as head coach.

Level 2 Certification: Assists level 3 coaches with advanced tasks such as leading rides.

Level 1 Certification: Assists all coaches as directed by the head coach.

To best serve our students, we are in need of level 2 & 3 coaches. We encourage our coaches to level up throughout the season.
